The 2025 Bentley Flying Spur Is the Most Powerful Bentley Sedan Ever

2025 Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid 13The updated Bentley Flying Spur is now powered by a massively powerful combination of a V-8 and a plug-in hybrid system.

Bentley’s new hybrid V-8 powertrain setup is making its way through the lineup, and now it’s the Flying Spur sedan’s turn. The new setup offers up to 145 more horsepower over the outgoing car, as well as a slight redesign and some new luxury options. That makes the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur the most powerful Bentley sedan ever built. Bentley’s new “Ultra Performance Hybrid” powertrain pairs a 592-hp 4.0-liter V-8 gas engine with a 187-hp e-motor integrated into the car’s 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, offering higher torque from lower engine speeds, more peak torque (up to 11 percent more), and more power output throughout the rev range (up to 19 percent more). Combined output in the sportiest of drive modes is up to 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque through all four wheels.

There is no cylinder deactivation hardware; efficiencies are gained from the hybrid system, including four modes built around the electric drive capabilities. Pure EV mode offers up to 47 miles of electric-only range at speeds up to 87 mph, and the combined system can propel the new Flying Spur up to a cross-continental range of 515 miles in a single tank. There’s also an e-boost mode, a regen braking mode, and a full charge mode for when the V-8 is used as a generator to recharge the traction battery.

The new Flying Spur also gets an electronically controlled limited-slip differential with active torque vectoring, a slight rear-biased weight distribution, Bentley Dynamic Ride control for suspension adjustment with twin-valve dampers, and an all-wheel steering setup for easier maneuverability. Bentley claims Sport mode’s body control is improved, as is ride comfort in the dedicated Comfort mode.

Inside, Bentley offers 22 hide colors, 11 secondary colors, and four split combos, making for over 700 unique potential combinations. That’s before factoring in piping and stitching customization, eight wood veneer options, and three other technical finishes on offer. There are 3D diamond-quilted seats, a new dark chrome spec, digital driver display with fresh graphics, and the iconic rotating central 12.3-inch screen.

There’s three audio setups on offer, with a standard 10-speaker setup, or there’s a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup or a 19-speaker Naim setup with bass transducers built into the front seating. There’s also new Wellness seating with Postural Adjust and Seat Auto Climate available for all four seats, which enables features like body temperature control. Around the exterior, there’s a new front bumper, rear diffuser, Speed-specific grille, and dark-tinted trim finishings. You can get new 22-inch, 10-spoke wheels in either grey or black paint, or other existing designs in more matching finishes. There are at lest 101 body paint colors on offer, or you can choose any color from Bentley’s storied legacy. Each Flying Spur can be further customized through Bentley’s Mulliner coachbuilding division.
