Driving control is enhanced by the standard active rear-axle steering and AMG Ride Control system with adjustable and adaptive damping. The Dynamic Plus package also adds active engine mounts and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential tuned to AMGs specification to really wring out the best this PHEV wagon has. You’ll also get a set of AMG High Performance Composite Brakes with red AMG calipers and massive 15.4-inch front brake rotors. Since the AMG E53 is also a PHEV, the AMG-tuned wagon can drive up to 87 mph in all-electric mode. What Mercedes hasn’t announced is how far you can drive at that speed and will most likely be in an update release just before the E53 lands in the U.S. later in 2025. DC charging is limited to 60 kW, but that should still make for a quick charge time if you need recharge on the way for any reason, given the size of the battery. Inside, you’ll find that typical mix of race inspired luxury you’ve come to expect from Mercedes-AMG in the E53 Wagon. AMG MB-Tex with Microfiber and AMG Nappa leather upholstery is available for you to add to optional AMG Performance Seat Package. The AMG Performance steering wheel can be had in multiple finishes (unless you go with the Dynamic Plus package, which defaults to a Nappa leather and microfiber wheel wrapping) while the trim will add to the luxury-performance feel. A 750-Watt Burmester surround sound system feeds the 17-speaker cabin while an optional MBUX Superscreen package adds in a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger to control the entertainment.
Outside, the 2026 AMG E53 Wagon will feature 12 colors that include four Manufaktur-exclusive paints. You can package these colors as part of optional appearance packages like AMG Night and Night Plus and AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber for a factory-custom look. 20-inch standard AMG twin five-spoke wheels are standard, but AMG 10-spoke, and 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels are optional.
If you really want a truly limited version of the 2026 AMG E53 Hybrid Wagon, then you want to order early for the exclusive Edition 1 version. This limited edition will come in Manufaktur Alpine Grey with unique AMG graphics, exterior accents, and the 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels as standard. The interior will also feature unique design elements and a full suite of standard equipment, but Mercedes didn’t share what exactly would be included. The 2026 Mercedes Benz AMG E53 Hybrid Wagon will arrive on our shores later this year. We also expect pricing to be announced at that time, but don’t be surprised to see the numbers start at the six-digit level and go up from there. Meanwhile, we’ll celebrate yet another performance wagon’s existence, while eagerly awaiting news on the mightier E63 variant—as well as its fate in America, where it enjoys a small yet fiercely loyal (and very wealthy) customer base.
